My nine year old boy gets swimmers ear frequently. Is there anything that I can do to help avoid this.

In the summer my children are always in the pool. Two of my children have had frequent ear problems. We seem to always be going to the doctor for help. I am looking for something that is more preventative, short of keeping them out of the pool / lake.

I've had the same problem with my son. They have turned in to severe ear infections. When swimming, try using ear plugs.

There are remedies that you can get at the drug store. They're basically isopropyl alcohol and glycerin to dry the water but keep the ear canal skin oily. You need to always be sure the canal is totally dry after any water gets in from showers or swimming, etc., at least during swimming season.
