There is a dry patch on my legs, looks like a welt, feels like sandpaper. What is this?? It's on my right outer thigh ... about the size of a quarter. It doesnt itch or hurt, it is just there!! I've been putting lotion on it. Do I need to get it checked out? ITs been there about a week now.

I had something like that and was told it was a form of a viral infection and that I was allergic to something. My dermatologist told me to try an oatmeal based lotion and Benadryl. The rash went away on it's own in about a week.
