Businesses in Town of Ayrsley Join to Help Community:

Charlotte, NC (July, 23 2010) – Businesses in the Town of Ayrsley came together to host a blood drive benefiting the American Red Cross on Friday, July 23, 2010. Hoffman Insurance Agency (www.TheHoffmanAgency.biz), MetLife (www.MetLife.com), Ayrsley Town Rehabilitation (www.AyrsleyRehab.com) and CharlotteDrs.com (www.CharlotteDrs.com) organized the mobile unit’s presence that resulted in 27 pints of blood donated.

Additionally Alter Ego Salon and Day Spa gave away free massages and Saffron Restaurant offered discounts on their lunch buffet to all donors.

Appointments were scheduled prior to the event and walk ups were also received totaling over 27 pints of blood donated that day. This organized community effort will benefit many, as each pint of blood donated helps to save the lives of up to three people.

Ayrsley Town Center is located on South Tryon Street and I-485 at exit 1 and is situated within the heart of Charlotte’s second largest job center. Being both a residential and retail area this town was the prime location for a blood drive attracting business professionals and residents.

“It is up to everyday people and businesses to work together to make a difference.  The blood drive that took place in Ayrsley is one example of ways in which we as a business community can save lives and make a difference,” shared Ben Yeakley of CharlotteDrs.com.  “We have to be thankful for our own business success and then use it to give back.”
